CBT for anxiety

Anxiety has a way of making the world feel smaller. Racing thoughts, a tight chest, the sense that something's always about to go wrong. CBT for anxiety gives you a structured, practical way to understand what's happening and start to loosen its grip.

I offer CBT for anxiety from my practice in Glasgow's West End, in person or online, whichever feels right for you.

What is CBT for anxiety?

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) looks at the link between what you think, how you feel, and what you do. With anxiety, that often means unpicking the thought patterns and avoidance habits that keep the worry cycle going, then building small, manageable steps to break it.

It's structured and collaborative. We'll work together to understand your anxiety, not just manage the symptoms of it.

Who CBT for anxiety can help

CBT is one of the most widely used approaches for anxiety, and for good reason. It's helped people work through:

  • Generalised anxiety and constant overthinking

  • Panic attacks and health anxiety

  • Social anxiety and fear of judgement

  • Anxiety that shows up as physical symptoms, tension, sleep problems, or a racing mind

If you're not sure whether what you're experiencing fits neatly into any of these, that's alright. We can talk it through together and find the right starting point.

How sessions work

Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly to begin with, in person in the West End or online. Each one builds on the last, so you leave with something practical to work with, not just something to think about.

There's no fixed number of sessions. We'll review progress together and go at a pace that suits you.

Getting started

If you've tried to manage anxiety on your own and want some support figuring out where to begin, I'd be glad to help. Book an initial call and we can have a conversation about what you're going through, with no pressure either way.
