Special category data (health and mental health information)

Information about your mental health is "special category data" under UK GDPR, which means it needs extra protection. We process this information on the basis of:

  • Your explicit consent, given when you engage with our services, and

  • The health and social care condition in the Data Protection Act 2018, since Emma is bound by professional confidentiality as a counsellor

We only collect what we need to provide safe, effective support, and we handle it with the confidentiality expected of a registered counsellor.

Who we share your information with

We use the following third parties to run this website and our practice:

  • Wix, our website hosting and forms provider, which processes form submissions on our behalf

  • Google, for the map embedded on our contact page and for our business email

  • Calendly, for booking introductory calls
    We do not share your information with anyone else unless we're required to by law, for example if there's a serious risk to your safety or someone else's.
